Much of my practice concerns the hidden tides of cause and consequence that lie beneath the surface of the seemingly static and mundane. how things which we perceive to be peripheral and unimportant, and the emanations of which we believe we allow to pass over us are, in fact, absorbed deeply and affect us profoundly.

My subject matter and media range widely, from investigating the effects of conter-terrorism using home made cameras, to exploring the nature of memory and the fragility of photographic meaning using chemigrams. Most projects explore in some sense the relationship between past and present, and the disjuncture between the world as it perhaps is, and what we percieve. All my projects are also reflective, and attempt on some level to investigate the media and methods used to create them.

I originally studied history at the University of Warwick, then worked abroad for the United Nation’s UNAIDS agency helping to improve national strategies to combat HIV/AIDS. Returning to the United Kingdom I worked for the National Health Service before turning to photography full time. I graduated with a distinction from the documentary photography master’s degree program at the London College of Communication in 2012 and now work freelance with clients in a range of sectors, increasingly with museums and cultural institutions. My work has been published and exhibited across the United Kingdom and afield.
