Design notes:

My first of several collaborations with designer Tom Mrazauskas, I developed the original book maquette which Tom then took over and vastly refined. The underlying concept of the book was to embody the look and feel of the intelligence documents which had formed a major part of the research for it, while at the same time also making nods towards the distinctive visual elements of the subject matter, like the radio spectrograms. The biggest challenge was to find a way to include sound recordings in the book, which we resolved using barcodes which link to a persistent web archive
