The Memory of History, 12 Star Gallery
17 – 26 September 2014
The Memory of History examines the role of the past in shaping the recent European recession and currency crisis. Photographed across ten European Union countries in 2012, The Memory of History seeks to reveal how economic hardship and uncertainty resulted in the re-emergence of difficult narratives of the past, narratives of disunity and division with the potential to threaten the continent’s future. This exhibition held at the European Union’s representation in London marked the tenth anniversary of the 2004 expansion of the European Union.
