Writing has been an integral part of my photographic practice since I began. Between 2012 and 2022 I maintained Disphotic, a blog about photography and visual culture and its intersections with diverse practices including journalism, art, history and technology.
During that time I was also commissioned to contribute essays to accompany photographers books and exhibitions, and by publications including World Press Photo Witness, The Art Newspaper, 1000 Words Magazine, The British Journal of Photography, Huck Magazine, Photomonitor, Hyperallergic, Reading the Pictures, Hotshoe, Burlington Magazine, The Photographers Gallery Blog, B&W Photography Magazine, and C4 Journal.
In 2022 I decided to stop writing about other photographers work in order to focus more on my own projects and research, and I now only infrequently take on new writing commissions. An index of my writing prior to then can be found here.
